The Bed & Breakfast

The 1920's were a time of prosperity in Albany. It was a bustling town with many profitable businesses. The owner of the home, now a B&B, was the Ford dealer in Albany. In 1926 he built a stately Tudor style home on the highest point in Albany. The house could be seen from miles around. Mr. Miller built a small replica near the back of the house as a playhouse for his small daughter.
In 1954 the house and grounds were sold to the Bakers. Parcels of the surrounding acreage were sold to individuals for private homes.
A small barn was turned into a rustic bunkhouse. The garage was renovated to be a guest cottage. Later, a beautiful gazebo was added to the large back yard.
Mrs. Baker turned the home into a bed and breakfast, "Virginia's Bed and Breakfast", that was well known and enjoyed by hunters as well as famous folks from Hollywood.
People still speak fondly of her sumptuous breakfasts.
In 2007 the house and grounds were sold to the present owners, Kurtis and Jeri Smith. With their two children they occupy the main house. The Guest Suite, Guest Cottage and Bunk House are available as bed and breakfast accommodations. rock play house main houseoutside bunk houseguest cottage livinggazzebo
